We are a crazy kiwi family living in Christchurch, South Island of New Zealand
🤙💕⛵
Having sailing adventures on our 1975 Cavalier 39 SV Blue Dolphin,
sailing around New Zealand in between running our business Bluetrack Track Training along with other life commitments
We started out purchasing our boat in Auckland, she was based at Bayswater Marina for the first two and a half years. We would fly up from South Island cruise the Hauraki Gulf, Coromandel, Waiheke Island, Great Barrier Island and Kawau Island before we decided to sail her South.
For the trip South we went from Auckland up to the Bay of Islands around Cape Reinga and then down the West Coast of the North Island and into Bark Bay in the Abel Tasman we had a few weeks there cruising before taking her over to Havelock Marina where we left her for a year and did a few trips out in the Pelorus Sounds. Then in January 2020 we sailed back around to the Abel Tasman vis French Pass, d’urville Island, Picton and the Marlborough Sounds before sailing her out of Tory channel and down to Lyttelton where she is based at Te Ana Marina the moment.
The plan is in early 2021 we will sail down to Stewart Island and then up the West Coast in to the Fiords and then on up into Golden Bay.... Then who knows where after that .. maybe through Cook Strait and back down to Lyttelton or maybe we go into Wellington and then head north hoping our way up the East Coast of the North Island .. once back in Auckland we would have completed a figure of eight circumnavigation of New Zealand which would be very cool ... so lets just see where the wind talks us
